TrailFactor 50k + Half + 5-Miler!
TRAILFACTOR ULTRA & HALF MARATHON RETURN IN 2013
5-Mile Race Added to Day’s Events
PORTLAND, OR – January 2, 2013 – The second annual TrailFactor 50K and Half Marathon trail races are returning to Forest Park on Memorial Day 2013.
Race Website & Registration
All the awesome details:
The 50K is the only ultra in the Portland area and is run entirely on trails in Forest Park, including several of the lesser traveled trails deep in the park. The Half Marathon course is improved for 2013 to feature more trails. And new this year is the addition of a 5-mile race. The races start and finish in Lower Macleay Park.
Registration for all three races is now open. The races support the Forest Park Conservancy. Last year TrailFactor donated $2,500 to the Conservancy.
The event embodies the ultrarunning community spirit and has a casual atmosphere and includes a post-race BBQ, with beer from race sponsor Lucky Lab.
Live results for all racers will be available on www.NSPiRElive.com.
Volunteering at the TrailFactor race is a great way for those not ready to run a 50K but who are interested in ultrarunning to learn about the sport.
“We’re excited about the addition of the 5-mile course to the 2013 race,” stated race co-director Renee Seker. “And Forest Park is a beautiful place that TrailFactor runs in every week, so it’s fantastic to put on a race there that benefits the park.

Short Story:
Long Story:
What makes this race special?
Forest Park. It’s a real treasure for trail runners and an opportunity to run a race on its trails shouldn’t be missed. The race routes will include everyone’s favorite – Wildwood Trail – but also some lesser traveled and less well-known paths.
Community. The Portland trail running club, TrailFactor, is hosting this event so its a great chance to hang out friends, run, and volunteer together. In addition to the race, there are trail maintenance opportunities and of course we’ll have a few social events too.
Social. This race is sponsored in part by nspirelive, so your results can be shared immediately as you finish. You can sign up to have text and email alerts automatically sent, and updates to your Facebook page and Twitter account.
Speaking of social, be sure to visit our Facebook page and check out this Event. There’ll you’ll find updates and information on the social opportunities.

I did the 24-hour version of this event several years ago – my first
24-hour anything. It was a lot of fun. Can’t beat this experience,
especially for this price.

I ran it last year, and it was probably my favorite event of the year. Amazing course, fun town (Shakespeare Festival!), post race beers from atop a mountain… And registration is just $15. Sign up early, as it will surely fill up.
